The Emancipation Fellowship Ministries, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) organization founded by Dr. Jerry Andrew Taylor in June 1999. EFM is dedicated to advancing the social, mental, economic, and spiritual emancipation of under-resourced communities locally and globally. Today, EFM carries this calling forward through silent contemplative retreats and multiracial coalitions designed to foster deep spiritual unity, healing, and reconciliation.
Our Global Partnerships
Emancipation Fellowship Ministries collaborates with Minister Herbert Mhango and the Chilenje Church of Christ in Lusaka, Zambia, to support the Barnabas School. Amidst a severe drought, we are committed to addressing the resulting humanitarian challenges by fostering fellowship and pooling resources. Our united efforts aim to bring relief, hope, and a brighter future to the people of Zambia.
Emancipation Fellowship Ministries (EFM) partners with Minister Evans Ngoge and the Hamuhuri Church of Christ in Nairobi, Kenya. Minister Ngoge leads a congregation in Kibera, one of Africa's largest slums. Witnessing the challenges and resilience of this community, EFM is committed to supporting this mission. In 2024, EFM will host Minister Ngoge for a U.S. speaking tour to share his experiences and foster partnerships for the Gospel's spread in Kenya.
Emancipation Fellowship Ministries (EFM) partners with Dr. Harold Gilmore and the Moulton Heights Church of Christ to support Minister Paul Gilbert's new congregation in Montego Bay, Jamaica. EFM backed the Jamaica Lectureship in February and plans future trips for training, workshops, and outreach, fostering spiritual growth and community development.
Emancipation Fellowship Ministries (EFM) is honored to stand in spiritual and social solidarity with such outstanding leaders in the nation of Ghana as Dr. Samuel Twumasi-Ankrah president of Heritage Christian College (HCC) and Fred Asare Group Managing Director of the Village of Hope. We stand in unity with these leaders as they carry out their mission to provide education, healthcare, and shelter to those in need.

These videos capture the New Year’s Eve Watch Night service at the Chilenje Church of Christ in Lusaka, Zambia. This church has also hosted the African Leadership Summit, which Dr. Taylor conducted in 2019, 2023, and 2025, with plans to return again in 2026.
The worship features the song “My God Is Good (Double Double)” by Uche Agu, highlighting the unity of African worship across cultures and languages. Though written by a Nigerian artist in Nigerian Pidgin, the song incorporates expressions from multiple African regions, including Lingala and Tshiluba from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Swahili from East Africa, and the use of “Jesu”, commonly associated with Akan-speaking Christians in Ghana. It also includes both English and French.
This joyous moment is a testament to the unity of African people worldwide and reflects the shared faith and spiritual connection that transcends national and linguistic boundaries.
