ABANDONED: A Memoir of Fatherlessness, Faith, and the Call to Heal

This book exposes a silent but heavy burden carried by many young Black men who step into ministry without the presence of a father—some lost to physical absence, some to death, others to emotional abandonment. Their deep-seated "father hunger" shapes their journey, pulling them toward older male figures in search of guidance, affirmation, and belonging. Yet, this dynamic is often misunderstood, at times even manipulated, creating tensions that ripple through Black church leadership in ways both visible and unseen.
