The Emancipation Fellowship Ministries, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) organization founded by Dr. Jerry Andrew Taylor in June 1999 in Greensboro, North Carolina. EFM is dedicated to advancing the social, mental, economic, and spiritual emancipation of the disenfranchised. We work to empower under-resourced communities across urban and rural areas in the United States and internationally, focusing on economic development and spiritual unity in nations such as Zambia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, and Jamaica. EFM supports spiritual and material advancement through collectivizing human and spiritual resources.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luke 4:18-19
These videos capture the New Year’s Eve Watch Night service at the Chilenje Church of Christ in Lusaka, Zambia. This church has also hosted the African Leadership Summit, which Dr. Taylor conducted in 2019, 2023, and 2025, with plans to return again in 2026.
The worship features the song “My God Is Good (Double Double)” by Uche Agu, highlighting the unity of African worship across cultures and languages. Though written by a Nigerian artist in Nigerian Pidgin, the song incorporates expressions from multiple African regions, including Lingala and Tshiluba from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Swahili from East Africa, and the use of “Jesu”, commonly associated with Akan-speaking Christians in Ghana. It also includes both English and French.
This joyous moment is a testament to the unity of African people worldwide and reflects the shared faith and spiritual connection that transcends national and linguistic boundaries.
